At inception, in 2001, the Office of the Vice Chancellor commenced operation from the Baptist Building, Oke-Bola, Ibadan, the administrative headquarters of the Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC). In June, 2002, it moved to the University campus at Iwo, Osun State in preparation for the official opening of the University on 4 November, 2002.
The Office is headed by the Vice Chancellor, who is the Chief Executive Officer and Academic Head of the University. The Vice Chancellor is responsible for the execution of policies and the actualization of the vision, mission and philosophies of the Proprietor of the University. He reports to the Governing Council, which is charged with the formulation of policies and guidelines for the smooth running of the Institution, on behalf of the Proprietor - the Nigerian Baptist Convention.
The Office of the Vice Chancellor, through its various activities in the past decade, has given quality leadership and direction as well as instituted enduring structures and systems which have culminated in the rapid development of the University. The unprecedented growth and enviable position that the University occupies within the Nigerian University System are due to the effectiveness and quality of leadership exhibited by the Office of the Vice Chancellor. For me, serving such a great cause in the plan of God for humanity is among the best anyone can render to humanity. This has been my passion as Vice Chancellor.
